Join us for Pegasus Spiele Gaming Days from April 26 until May 26, 2024
Friedberg, April 30, 2024: This year’s Pegasus Spiele Gaming Days started on April 26 and will take place until May 26. In participating board game stores and gaming clubs, join and play demonstrations of four brand new games: Dorfromantik – The Duel, the competitive version of the Spiel des Jahres 2023, the abstract tile-shifting game Shifting Seasons, the latest title in the Port Royal series Port Royal – The Dice Game, as well as the children’s game Zilence.
Twice a year, Pegasus Spiele cooperates with numerous game stores and clubs in Europe to offer players the opportunity to experience new releases for free and in a relaxed atmosphere. A registration is usually unnecessary. This spring, the Pegasus Spiele Tage take place from April 26 to May 26. Nearby events and all information can be found at the Pegasus Spiele Gaming Days Info Page.
After the great success of Dorfromantik – The Board Game, the next chapter in the world of Dorfromantik is no longer about working together, but rather about friendly competition: Dorfromantik – The Duel, again designed by Lukas Zach and Michael Palm, retains the basic principles of tile-laying and completing tasks. Two players aged ten and up (or two teams) will each create their own beautiful landscape of forests, villages, fields, rivers, and railroad tracks by using identical tiles. Who will cleverly place the tiles to score more points that their opponent? Dorfromantik – The Duel also introduces two new Task types in addition to two new optional modules that provide even more challenges, variety, and player interaction.
All lovers of abstract tile-laying games can look forward to Shifting Seasons by Kirsten Hiese. Two to four players aged eight and up must cleverly slide tiles on a central board to collect valuable tiles for their own board and to fulfill the requirements of four scoring cards. In their turn, players will choose a tile from the display and push it into one of four lanes on the central game board. This action will push another tile free from the same lane, which the player will then place on their personal board corresponding to the number of the track.
In Port Royal – The Dice Game, two to five players exchange their cards for dice and pencils but the goal remains the same as in the Caribbean classic Port Royal: hire the most capable crew and loot treasure. Every time the active player rolls the dice, the game board fills with different colored ships and ship wheel tokens. The more tokens they can place, the better, and they can roll the dice as many times as they like. But if the same ship appears twice andcannot be fended off with the help of the crew, it is a dark day indeed—the player rolling the dice ends their turn empty-handed while the others at the table can fill their pockets. If the active player manages to stop in time, they can exchange tokens for actions on their own game board, gaining a bonus either to reach new islands or to gain first access to new effects.
In the children’s game Zilence by Sophia Wagner, two to four brave players ages six and up set off in the middle of a zombie apocalypse to collect items that are essential for survival. They start their flight from the roof of a tower block in the city centre. Before each round starts, players draw cards to determine what items they are looking for. Then they have twenty seconds to trace each of the three active routes (out of twelve open routes) using only their eyes. The goal: commit to a single flight path where they believe they can collect as many of the items they seek this turn.
