Wine & Cheese by Deep Print Games has been released by Pegasus Spiele
Friedberg, June 12, 2026: With Beer & Bread already the talk of the town among core game fans, Deep Print Games now serves up Wine & Cheese, its standalone spiritual successor, which is being distributed exclusively by Pegasus Spiele. On their respective traditional farms, the two players attempt to balance wine and cheese production as profitably as possible.
Competent production of wine and cheese requires good planning and a knack for the right timing, as the deployment of labor must be coordinated and the maturation process of the goods kept under close watch. The game spans a total of two years, each divided into the four seasons – spring, summer, fall, and winter – with distinct phases for each.
Depending on the season, players have different tasks to complete: In spring, workers must be sent in pairs to plots on the shared lands to gather ingredients. In addition, wine and cheese can be produced, sold, or stored. Summer is the time when goods ripen and useful actions on the wine and cheese cards can be triggered. Fall is similar to spring, except that workers now return from the plots. Finally, winter follows, which plays out differently in both years, as it heralds the final scoring in the second year. After the total points for wine and cheese have been determined, however, only the lower value counts as the final score. After a good hour, the winner is the person with the higher final score.
Wine & Cheese has been released as part of Deep Print Games’ For-2 series. Just like Beer & Bread before it, it is designed for exactly two players, whose task is to run a successful farm and balance the production of two goods, since only the less profitable of the two counts toward the final score. However, the game mechanics of the two titles differ, and compared to Beer & Bread, production in Wine & Cheese is a bit more challenging. The game was once again designed by Scott Almes, while Michael Menzel and Alexander Jung created the harmonious illustrations. The core game Wine & Cheese is available for gourmets aged twelve and up.
